U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Justin Simpson was recognized at the Armed Services YMCA of Alaska's 47th Annual Salute to the Military event for his exceptional service, leadership, and commitment to community initiatives.
Six senior master sergeants were inducted into the tier of the U.S. Air Force’s highest enlisted rank – chief master sergeant – in a ceremony at the Arctic Warrior Event Center on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Feb. 9, 2024.
While the changes feature a mix of near-term and longer-term initiatives, senior leaders emphasized the need for speed. “We are out of time,” Kendall said repeatedly in urging action on the changes.
The 3rd Maintenance Group is responsible for component, equipment, aircraft, maintenance and munitions support for F-22, C-17, C-12, and E-3 aircraft and maintenance operations to support 3rd Wing taskings.

The 3rd Maintenance Group is a participant in the Chief of Staff of the Air Force Task Force True North pilot program which seeks to bolster Comprehensive Airman Fitness in assigned Active Duty members and their dependents.
The 3rd Operations Group provides premier combat-ready aerospace forces to warfighting commanders tasked to defend and protect U.S. interests in the Pacific region and around the world. The group trains, mobilizes, and employs five squadrons comprised of C-17 Globemaster, C-12 Huron, E-3 Sentry, and F-22 Raptor aircraft, providing unmatched air dominance, global mobility, and command and control for Combatant Commanders. Additionally, the group sustains installation operations at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson for critical force-staging and throughput operations in support of worldwide contingencies.
