Brigadier Gen. Anthony Stratton was born Aug. 12, 1968 in Missoula, Montana, and has lived in the Alaska communities of Barrow, Fairbanks and Anchorage.
He graduated from Service High School in 1986 and enlisted in the Alaska Air National Guard in February of 1988 as a C-130 Hercules propulsion system specialist. Stratton received his commission from the Academy of Military Science in October of 1990 and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alaska Anchorage in December of 1993. He is a command pilot, qualified in both the C-130 Hercules and C-17 Globemaster III, and has served in a multitude of operational and support positions within the Alaska National Guard.
