COVID-19 Updates and What the U.S. Government is doing about it.

 - Any service member or dependent at JBER who has COVID symptoms should be tested. Self-referral drive-up testing offered at the JBER Respiratory Clinic. Mon - Sun 7 A.M. - 3 P.M.
 - Further reduction of garrison and tenant services--we are working to find ways to provide virtual services as much as possible
 - Commissary and AAFES resources will remain available with current mitigating efforts in place

Mission: To develop and test effective models to address the seams and shortfalls with resources/capabilities that optimize Airman performance, increase resilience of the force and their families, and decrease negative and violent outcomes."




Capt David Keel


Ch, Capt David S. Keel is a USAF Chaplain assigned to the 673rd Civil Engineer Group. He entered the Chaplain Candidate program in 2007. After completing his Masters of Divinity degree, Chaplain Keel was appointed as an IMA Reserve Chaplain at Holloman AFB, NM. During that time he also served as a minister at Trinity Baptist Church, Abilene, TX. In May of 2015 he entered active duty and was appointed to Dyess AFB. In April of 2018 he was appointed to Task Force True North at JBER, AK where he currently serves. Ch Keel provides for the free exercise of religion and spiritual care of assigned personnel and families. He is experienced at providing confidential, pastoral care for individuals and couples.

MSgt Michael Chim

Superintendent, Religious Affairs

MSgt Michael Chin is the Superintendent of Religious Affairs for the 673d Civil Engineering Group. He has over 20 years of service with the Air Force and has acquired a broad and diverse skill sets due to stepping outside his career field fulfilling two separate special duties: Command Chief Executive and PME Instructor (ALS & NOCA). As the Superintendent he is responsible for the development and execution of an annual ministry plan budget, logistical support to chaplain programs, maintaining program records and assisting the chaplain in the spiritual care of the active duty Airmen in the 673d Civil Engineering Group. MSgt Chin is trained in crisis intervention counseling & suicide intervention. He is granted the same confidentiality privileges as the chaplain but does not hold any professional training in long-term counseling or therapy.
