Arctic Warrior of the Week
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Karl Cauley, a military justice paralegal assigned to the 673d Air Base Wing Legal Office, is recognized as the Arctic Warrior of the Week by U.S. Air Force Col. Kirsten Aguilar, left, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and 673d Air Base Wing commander, and U.S. Army Sgt. Maj. Jerry Byrd, JBER installation sergeant major, at JBER, Alaska, May 14, 2021. Cauley assists first sergeants and commanders in the administration of courts-martials. As one of two paralegals managing courts-martial, Cauley was assigned one General and one Special Court-Martial. His excellent case management skills allowed a trial to continue without further delay subsequent to COVID-19 restrictions. Additionally, Cauley took the initiative to train and assist the senior attorney at the 477th Fighter Group on Special Interest Reporting, allowing the timely notification of officer misconduct to Headquarters Air Force. Finally, as the JA representative for the Wing Staff Agencies Resiliency Program, he dedicated his time and efforts to keep the legal team connected and resilient through weekly resiliency lessons. The Arctic Warrior of the Week is an award highlighting JBER's top-performing Airmen.
