Welcome to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, the premier joint base in the Department of Defense and home of America's Arctic Warriors.
JBER hosts more than 13,000 military personnel, nearly 20,000 family members and more than 3,000 civilian employees. The installation stretches over 79,000 acres, from the northern Anchorage area to Palmer. We are committed to providing world-class support to you and your family, enabling you to focus on your mission, and we hope your tour here is personally and professionally rewarding.
JBER’s host unit is the 673d Air Base Wing, and a few services use Air Force terms; for example, if you’re a Soldier, what you know as “Morale, Welfare and Recreation” is the province of the 673d Force Support Squadron here. You can check them out at http://www.jberlife.com.
JBER has two Military and Family Readiness Centers which provide services like deployment support, transition and relocation assistance, spouse employment assistance, special needs resources and support, financial readiness services, emergency financial assistance, crisis assistance, volunteer resources, Wounded Warrior assistance, casualty and survivor benefits, and information and referral. We also have strong Key Spouse and Family Readiness Group programs that support and assist our families and units, providing a network of communications amongst our family members, chain of command, and community resources. These programs are not just for deployed families; they are for all military families. For more information, contact the Military and Family Readiness Centers at 552-4943 or 384-1517.
Whether Alaska is a temporary stop or a permanent move for you, we want to make sure you stay up to date on the latest information and the great activities, programs and services available. We encourage you to add the JBER home page, http://www.jber.jb.mil to your favorites and follow the JBER Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JBERAK.
The JBER community welcomes you.
