JOINT BASE ELMENDORF-RICHARDSON, Alaska -- This year's Arctic Thunder Open House now has an official lineup of acts. In addition to the U. S. Air Force's Air Demonstration Squadron, the “Thunderbirds,” and the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team, several other performers are on the docket, July 30 and 31.
- The Pacific Air Forces C-17 Globemaster III Demonstration Team, based at Joint Bawe Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, will show off the capabilities of one of the major cargo and personnel workhorses of the Department of Defense.
- Tom “Lark” Larkin will do a full aerobatic routine in his modified Subsonex mini-jet, with 258 pounds of thrust.
- Undaunted Airshows of Shoreline, Washington, brings Stephen Christopher in an RV7 and Todd Rudberg in an RV8 for a high-energy, two-ship aerobatic formation team.
- Anthony Oshinuga, an air racer and aerobatic artist from southern California, brings his Pitts S1.
- Melissa Dawn Burns, a basejumper, skydiver, and pilot from Talkeetna, will fly her Edge 540.
“Arctic Thunder 2022 is going to be an excellent show,” said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Roderic Rosario, the open house director. “We have a lineup of stellar aviation performances including diverse ground displays, and the Joint Forces Demonstration will include Alaska’s own Air National Guard and U.S. Army Alaska paratroopers to show how JBER military teams work together. It will be our best year yet.”
